The Library Receives Donation of Ngugi wa Thiong’o Archival Materials

On 27th November, 2025, the Library Team, led by the Director Angela Mumo, received archival materials of a Kikuyu play entitled ‘Ngaahika Ndeenda’ (I Will Marry When I Want). The play was written by Ngugi wa Thiong’o and Ngugi wa Mirii in the Kikuyu language and first performed in Kenya in 1977 at Kamiriithu Educational and Cultural Centre. This play covers colonial themes of class struggle, poverty, gender, culture, religion, modernity vs. tradition, and marriage and family.

UoN Library and WAFLAK Explore Joint Initiatives on Water Conservation & Knowledge Sharing

The University of Nairobi Library, as part of its community outreach initiative and its commitment to fostering partnerships that support knowledge management, held a collaboration meeting with Water for Life Alliance Kenya (WAFLAK) to explore opportunities for joint work in knowledge sharing, research, and public sensitization on sustainable water management.
