Waiver on Article Processing Charges for Researchers

WAIVER/DISCOUNTED ARTICLE PROCESSING CHARGES FOR MEMBERS OF THE KENYA LIBRARY & INFORMATION SERVICES CONSORTIUM (KLISC) RESEARCHERS

The Library is happy to announce that the University of Nairobi in collaboration with the Kenya Library and Information Services Consortium (KLISC) and the Electronic Information for Libraries (EIFL) has negotiated for publishing waiver for KLISC researchers.

EIFL has negotiated a number of agreements with publishers that secure waiver or discounted Article Processing Charges (APCs) for researchers in Kenya to allow them to publish their articles in open access at a waived or reduced fee.

The University of Nairobi is a member of KLISC and will therefore benefit from this noble service. You can find details of negotiated agreements on this page: https://eifl.net/apcs

The title list of all eligible journals for corresponding authors from Kenya includes titles from all applicable publishers. It includes details of the offer (waiver or discount), any conditions, and can be searched by subject. This list can be downloaded from the consortium page on the EIFL website: https://eifl.net/country/kenya

The list will be updated periodically, and one can download the most recent version from the above link. This information and the links is also found on the library website: https://uonlibrary.uonbi.ac.ke/  under “Waiver on Article Processing Charges for Researchers”
