OVERVIEW

Jomo Kenyatta Memorial Library (JKML) is a four-storey building located on the Main Campus of the University of Nairobi. It houses information collection for the 19 departments of the Faculty of Arts, Social Sciences as well as Engineering attesting to its diverse information collection. The Library administration offices are housed in JKML in addition; central services such as the Processing unit, bindery, and the archives are located therein. In addition to this, the digital content section and Institutional repository are also hosted in JKML.

Opening Hours at JKML

Jomo Kenyatta Memorial Library opens its door to users from 8 am to 10 pm Monday to Friday when students of the University of Nairobi are on session, and on Saturdays from 8 am to 5 pm. On Sundays, the library opens for 6 hours from 9 am to 3 pm. During the vacation of the University of Nairobi, the library is usually open from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm and on Saturday from 8 am to 12 noon.  JKML is usually closed on public holidays. Resources.

JKML has a sitting capacity of about 3000. Total print collection 145,000; Electronic resources are cross cutting and are accessible to all the University of Nairobi Library users. The following is total e-collection of the UoN:
