UoN Library and WAFLAK Explore Joint Initiatives on Water Conservation & Knowledge Sharing

The University of Nairobi Library, as part of its community outreach initiative and its commitment to fostering partnerships that support knowledge management, held a collaboration meeting with Water for Life Alliance Kenya (WAFLAK) to explore opportunities for joint work in knowledge sharing, research, and public sensitization on sustainable water management.

WAFLAK, a community-based organization operating across all 47 counties, is dedicated to ensuring that every person and animal has access to clean water and proper sanitation through education, awareness creation, and community empowerment initiatives that promote water harvesting, conservation, and sustainable resource management.

During the meeting, the Library and WAFLAK discussed key areas of collaboration, including joint awareness and sensitization campaigns on water conservation, collaborative research and knowledge exchange on sustainable water management, linkages with internal and external experts and researchers, and support for scholarship and youth empowerment initiatives in environmental and water resource management. Both parties agreed to continue refining these collaborative areas by developing a partnership framework, identifying pilot programmes, and engaging additional stakeholders. The meeting reaffirmed the University of Nairobi Library’s dedication to community development, environmental sustainability, and strengthening knowledge management through impactful partnerships.
