Joy town school for the mobility disabled is situated in Thika County. Both the primary and secondary schools have close to 200 students. The primary school is exclusively for the mobility disabled most of whom have cerebral palsy while the Secondary school is interpreted. The two schools were hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic when the Government ordered them to open.
Despite the fact that only the examination classes opened, it has been difficult for the teachers and students to live up to the hygiene levels of the pandemic regulations. In light of this, the library disability mainstreaming committee and friends decided to visit the school and donate some items from friends to the students and teachers.
This was a corporate social responsibility event. Items donated included, Masks, milk, bread, toilet paper, sanitizers, dispensers and signage. The pupils, teachers and students were overjoyed.
