How to Access Standard & Nation E-Newspapers

The University has maintained subscriptions to electronic local newspapers to enhance access to current awareness information.

STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE ON ACCESS TO DAILY NATION E-PAPER ON OR OFF-CAMPUS

When on Campus;

  1. Open the library website via the link - https://uonlibrary.uonbi.ac.ke/
  2. On this page, to the right, as you scroll down, under “Important Links” click on “e-paper (Nation Media)”.
  3. The e-paper portal will open and you can browse through their selection - Daily Nation | Business Daily | Taifa Leo | The East African | Seeds of Gold
  4. Click on the paper of your choice to read right from your browser.

When off-Campus;

  1. Log into the VPN portal using your Active Directory (AD) credentials - https://vpn.uonbi.ac.ke/remote/login?lang=en
  2. Once logged in, locate and click on the “Nation Newspapers Online” link.
  3. The e-paper portal will open and you can browse through their selection - Daily Nation | Business Daily | Taifa Leo | The East African | Seeds of Gold
  4. Click on the paper of your choice to read right from your browser.

STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE ON ACCESS TO DAILY STANDARD E-PAPER ON OR OFF-CAMPUS

  1. Open the library website via the link - https://uonlibrary.uonbi.ac.ke/
  2. To the right side, as you scroll down, under “Important Links” click on “e-Paper (Standard Media)
  3. The e-paper portal will open, and here you can select the Standard ePaper by clicking directly on it.
  4. You can also access the e-standard portal directly via the link: https://epaper.standardmedia.co.ke/
  5. At this point, when you click on the standard paper, you will be asked to log in. Enter your username (departmental e-mail) and the password provided.  
  6. Once you are through with reading the paper, please log out to allow another staff to log in.

For students who would like to access e-standard, please contact the faculty librarian for login details.
