INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE WORLD'S INDIGENOUS PEOPLES: 9TH AUGUST

August 9 was first proclaimed International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples by the United Nations in 1994 to promote and protect the rights of the world's Indigenous population. This day also commemorates the achievements and contributions that Indigenous people make in the world. August 9 also marks the first time the UN Working Group on Indigenous Populations met in Geneva in 1982.

WORLD BREASTFEEDING WEEK: 1ST – 7TH AUGUST 2014

The World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated every year from 1st - 7th August in more than 170 countries to encourage breastfeeding and improve the health of babies around the world. It commemorates the Innocenti Declaration made by WHO and UNICEF policy-makers in August 1990 to protect, promote and support breastfeeding. The slogan and theme for World Breastfeeding Week 2014 is “Breasfeeding: A Winning Goal – For Life.”

Library takes part in Performance Contract Negotiations

Performance Contract Negotiations for Colleges and Central Departments

The Library Department took part in the Performance Contract Negotiatioans for the year 2014-2015. The exercise was held on Wednesday 30 July 2014 at the Central Catering Unit (CCU). The Department will be required to defend the Performance Contract after twelve months.
