Library Staff Participate in Commemorating World Aids Day, 2018

On 30th November, the library joined other UoN staff members in commemorating the World AIDS Day. This year's theme was "Know your status" encourages everyone to know their status.

Participants in attendance were treated to entertainment by local artists Sanaipei Tande and Jabidii of the Famous ‘Odi Dance.’ In addition, teams competed in tug of war, sack race, skipping, caterpillar walk, short relays, three legged race, balloon/condom race, obstacle race and musical chairs. Speaking on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, the ag. Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Student Affairs, Prof. Isaac Mbeche, highlighted the initiatives taken by the University in HIV and AIDS. “The University of Nairobi has an HIV and AIDS policy that provides education, support care and treatment for the infected and affected,” Said Prof. Mbeche. “The University does not discriminate against students or staff living with HIV/AIDs. I wish to thank all those who have made a concerted effort, and those who have contributed immensely in HIV/AIDs work.
