KLISC/EIFL Repository Administrators Workshop at University of Nairobi (28th - 29th November, 2018)

Kenya Libraries and Information Services (KLISC) in collaboration with Electronic Information for Libraries (EIFL) held a two days workshop for Repository Administrators at University of Nairobi.

The workshop ran on 28th and 29th November 2018. The main aim of the workshop was to equip the Repository Administrators with key technical competencies that are essential to manage repositories. The workshop also aimed at enlightening the participants on Open Access, Open Science and emerging trends. The participants also got a hands-on experience on Dspace installation management.

The workshop was officially opened by Prof. Joseph Kavulya, the Chairperson KLISC. In his remarks, Prof Kavulya said that Open Access plays a big role in scholarly communication.

The participants were drawn from various universities in Kenya either working as Librarians managing repositories or ICT persons supporting the repositories in their universities.
