The Network of African Medical Librarians (NAML) visited the University of Nairobi Library with the sole aim of learning on how best to establish Digital Health Repository for Africa. NAML Secretariat is based at Kenyatta University with the aim of collecting and making accessible all digital Health content through establishing a Digital Health Repository.

The Secretariat is composed of medical librarian from Kenya (UoN & KEMU), Mali, Nigeria, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Each Librarian is tasked to set up a Digital Health Repository with a grant provided by the Office of Global AIDS  of the US, Department Of State. Currently, the University of Nairobi is running a project of establishing a Subject Digital Repository for College of Health Sciences.

The visiting team was welcomed to the library by the Ag. Deputy Director Technical Services and the Ag. Deputy Director, Administration who briefed them about the current state of the University of Nairobi Digital Repository and policies that supports it. From their tour, presentations were done on how to establish, manage and sustain a digital repository.

They also had the opportunity to visit DR Unit, Circulation Section as well as Graduate Research Library.
