University of Nairobi Wins the Emerald Knowledge Ambassadors Award

Four students of the University of Nairobi, school of Business (SOB) together with their librarian attended the 6th Emerald Knowledge Ambassadors’ workshop which was organized by the Emerald Group of Publishers and Daystar University on 28th September 2018.

The Emerald Knowledge Ambassador is an event that is geared towards engaging students in promoting the use of E-resources among their peers. The activity was opened by the Vice Chancellor of Daystar University, Prof, James Kombo and attended by Sarah Price, Marketing Manager Emerals Group and Talita Opperman, Emerald Sub-Saharan Africa Team. The University of Nairobi students emerged the winners of the much coveted trophy as the best presenters. Their presentation was dabbed ‘benefits of Knowledge ambassadors in Africa

The workshop was attended by students and librarians from 18 universities in Kenya, among them, Egerton University, Kenyatta University, Zetech University, Cooperative University, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Mount Kenya University ,Nazarene University, UMMA University and Daystar University.

Students are better ambassadors of library resources especially among fellow students. The Knowledge Ambassadors’ project is a volunteer service by students of all levels as well as staff members of all categories at all Universities in Kenya who are passionate about library resources.
