About 50 students from Kaluluini Secondary School (Mixed) visited the library on 20th July 2018 at 11:00 am. The learners assembled at the Circulation Desk from where they were oriented to the University of Nairobi Library services.

Some of the library services they were introduced to included staff assistance and guidance, online registration of users, lending of books, photocopying services, access to e-resources (e-books, e-journals, e-thesis.), and access to archives and rare collection. They were also introduced to print information resources available from the library including books, newspapers and journals.

The learners were also introduced to research materials available in East Africana collection. They were informed that new library users are instructed how to search, evaluate and use information to complete assignments or write research papers.

Then followed an interactive Question and Answer session where the students interacted with the library staff. After the interactive Library Talk, the students were divided into two groups and had a guided library tour. The tour took them to Africana, Shelves and reading areas, E-resources and Online Public Access Catalogue section. The students were excited to learn that e-books can be accessed remotely anywhere anytime.
