Organizations generate many large documents that need to be bound for ease of handling. Binding of documents is a complex process which requires machines and skilled workforce. Many organizations outsource this service due to lack of capacity. Outsourcing of Binding services is expensive and compromises security as well as confidentiality. It is in light of this that the University of Nairobi in collaboration with UNES has organized a short course dubbed “Binding skills”. This course is designed to empower trainees with the relevant hands-on binding skills and knowledge applicable in their work environments. The University has a modern binding section equipped with state of the art machines and highly experienced staff.

The training targets staff in Government institutions, Counties, Ministries, Schools as well as entrepreneurs who may wish to start or enhance binding business/Unit.


The main objective of the course is to equip participants with binding skills for all types of documents

The course will take place at the University of Nairobi Library, Binding Section from May 21st -25th 2018.

The course will be purely practical and the University will provide all the materials that will be used in the demonstrations. Participants will be able to carry samples of their bound documents. Further details on the content can be found Here    


The total cost for the course is Ksh. 85,000 per participant. The fee will cater for meals, binding materials and stationery.
