UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI LIBRARY HOLDS ITS 2ND ANNUAL ACADEMIC INTEGRITY DAY

The library held the 2nd Annual Academic Integrity Day from 28th to 29th June 2017.  The event was held concurrently at College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences and Main Campus.

Academic integrity is the moral code of academia .The main objective of the event is to promote awareness on academic honesty in the institutions of higher learning. This aims at improving the quality of research that translates to informed decision making. The theme of this year’s event is: “Promoting Sustainable Intellectual Development”.

The event was officially opened by the Acting Deputy Director (Planning), Library and Information Services. The Deputy Director indicated that academic integrity has become a mirage for many students in the digital age. He stated that it would be unfortunate to have a degree recalled because of academic dishonesty. Some of the areas the event participants were sensitized on are; the University of Nairobi Plagiarism policy, Turnitin Plagiarism Software as well as copyright issues.
