LIBRARY CONDUCTS SHORT COURSES (21ST -23RD JUNE 2017)

The Library in collaboration with University of Nairobi Enterprises & Services Ltd, conducted three short courses from 21st to 23rd June 2017. The three courses were;

  1. AUTOMATED REFERENCING SYSTEM (21st June 2017)
  2. PLAGIARISM AND THE USE OF TURNITIN DETECTION SOFTWARE (22nd June 2017)
  3. PUBLISHING IN HIGH IMPACT JOURNALS (23rd June 2017)

The Objectives of the short courses training were to;

  • Equip participants with citing and referencing skills using Zotero and Mendeley Bibliographic Management software
  • Train participants on how to use Turnitin to detect plagiarism
  •  Enhance academic writing
  • Equip participants on how to publish in high impact commercial and open access journals and books

The three courses were attended by Researchers, Academics, Postgraduate Students and Librarians. Participants were at liberty to choose the course they wished to attend but most of them attended all the three courses. The courses were conducted at Computer Lab, Jomo Kenyatta Memorial Library.
