SCHOOL OF BUSINESS LIBRARY CONDUCTS ORIENTATION FOR FIRST YEAR MODULE 11, 2017/18 STUDENTS

1st Year’s Modulle11, School of Business students went through library orientation on Monday, 10th April 2017 from 11.30am to 1.00pm.

The students and the library staff assembled in Mwai Kibaki Library where they were addressed by the School librarian and Library staff before they were taken for the library tour.

The Librarian started her speech by welcoming the students to the Campus library and congratulated the new students on excelling in the National Exams and also for choosing to be identified with “A World Class University committed to academic excellence”.

She encouraged them to make good use of their time in the college and rise to the academic, social personal and even spiritual challenges that they may face during the 4 years in the college. She stressed the willingness of library staff in walking side by side with students during their academic journey to the end. “You are the reason why we are here, so make use of us”.

Among other issues, the students were briefed on Library rules and regulations, hours of operation, modes of communication, online registration requirements and library services and facilities.

She emphasized on information literacy support training programmes and encouraged students to form groups of 10’s for the training. She went ahead to talk of library users’ responsibilities for instance, proper use of library materials

The librarian concluded her speech by encouraging students to give feedback on library services and facilities.
