Only registered persons may borrow books from the library provided they observe library regulations. Restricted loans are for materials submitted to some form of circulation restriction:

Lost cards


  • All users must register with the library upon identification
  • They will be issued with a library card (students and staff of the University may use their identity cards)
  • Students will borrow materials from their base library
  • Students and staff Identity cards will be required for borrowing while for outsiders a library card is required


Daily Membership - Ksh 100
Monthly Membership - Ksh 500


Annual Membership (open only to graduates of recognized universities).
Subscription - Ksh 500 plus a refundable deposit of Ksh 3000.



Some library collections are not on loan and these are appropriately marked. Materials on reserve can only be used in the library except when overnight loan is allowed.

Academic Staff, Senior Administrative staff and Post-Graduate students:
10 books for 1 Month, renewable once
Under-Graduate Students:
6 books for 2 Weeks, Not renewable
Non-Academic staff and External Borrowers
2 books for 2 weeks, Not renewable



Lost cards

Lost cards should be reported to the library immediately

Library users are responsible for items borrowed on their cards

A lost card will be replaced at the cost of the user
